2008 Pumpkin Party!

Well, tonight was our annual pumpkin carving party with Auntie Debbie...as usual it was chaos...but so much fun. I have to say that Deb went above and beyond with her pumpkin this year...it looks awsome, just like you'd see on TV. Ashten of course pretended she was an ax murder and hacked away with a carving knife.

We tried some "gourmet" seeds this year..soaked in soy sauce..I was the only one who liked them.

It's time to make the cookies

Deirdre and Dermot just love cookies....especially when they get to make them themselves!

It's kind of difficult to tell, but Deirdre gets more flour on her face then there is on the table!

What a difference 5 years makes

I'm in the process of uploading all my pictures from all my computers to the Picasa Web for archiving ....and am always amazed at how big the kids have gotten ......what a difference 5 years makes.

Spending a day out and about.....

Well, we had quite a day today. Deirdre and Dermot had a good time playing in the yard with Uncle Pat this morning while he and Mark were working on fixing the garage roof.

I decided that I wanted to take advantage of the nice weather and take the kids out for a bit. So Deb and I loaded them up in the car and headed to Midlefield. Yes, I said Middlefield..two counties away. I had seen an ad for a farm out there called Ridgeway or Ridgewood ..or Ridge something that had a corn maze, petting zoo, and what they called "picked your own pumpkin". Well, we drove about an hour and a half to get there, and it was a reallly nice ride....but the farm itself was a bit of a disappointment. So....anyway, off we went to Mapleside....had to get good carmel apples.

So, we drive an hour and a half from Middlefield to Medina, got the kids up and out of the car..and they had a blast at Mapleside. They had their fall festival...which the kids love. Corn maze, rides, fries and lemonade...and of course the best carmel apples and cider. Sadly, when we went to head from the playground over to get the fries..... I realized that I did not have my wallet. A mobile web search, and a couple of frantic phone calls later and I discovered that like a total airhead, I left my wallet at the Circle K gas station in Middlefield.

So....off we went from Medina back to Middlefield....another hour and a half in the car just to get my stupid wallet. Fortunatly , the drive was nice...the colors of the trees beautiful...and the kids were really good in the car.

Just another day out and about. :-)
