Cheerleader in training.

Deirdre was all about being a cheerleader. Once she got into the center of the cheer circle, there was no getting her out!

They announced a cheer clinic for little kids in mid October, which of course she now wants to do as it means she'll get to cheer at a game. :-)

Tailgating at the Ranger game

They all line up for hot dogs cooked by the school Principal.

Ash helps the D's get bunned up.

Sitting in the picnic area with the rest of the "Hayesers"

Deirdre posing with her teacher Mr. Holliday. This guy is a hoot. If they need to use the restroom he refers to it as visiting "tinkle town". In order to get their attention in class he yells loudly " O H" and the kids yell back " I O".

He did tell me last night that we have one really bright girl on our hands, and he's surprised we didn't have her tested for the GT program. (That's the gifted program for non Lakewooders out there). I told him that we chose not to have her tested because 1. The program is at a different school so logistically it would have been difficult, and 2. We feel that there is plenty of time when she hits middle school and high school to do that. We didn't want that kind of academic pressure on her at such a young age.

Ashten got put to work

Ashten came down for a Dr. appt, that then got canceled. Linda put her to work making posters for an event we have this evening. I guess that's what happens when you hang out around here as often as Ashten does, eventually you get put to work!

Family Game Night

Mark picked up a really fun game...Scrabble Slam. It really tested our spelling and vocabulary.

Ashten feeling dyslexic being comforted by her team member. :-)

Dermot and I trying to think of a great word.

Apparently Dermot didn't like my word as he quickly changes teams.

Allie once again challenging my words...... I mean why challenge srew...everyone knows that's a word. ;-)

Ranger Pride.....

....starts young.

Ashten was painting faces for the football game and Deirdre is never one to be left out of the fun.

I think she thought she was posing for America's Top Model or something.

OOPS.......

An example of what happens when you try to make due with what's in the house.

I guess there's a reason they make a different kind of detergent for dishwashers.

This was NOT a fun way to end the holiday weekend....although the kids did get quite a laugh. :-)
